“Yeah, Tommy, I’m the one paying.” Wilbur taunts, taking out his wallet. “You should listen to your big brother, he’s the one paying after all.” “We’re checking out and leaving.” Wilbur gives him a pointed look-the effect probably ruined by the overwhelming affection he feels for this boy. The lady vaguely smiles back at him, “Hello, did you find everything you need alright?” Wilbur ignores him for a second, smiling at the cashier, “Hello.” “Nuh uh, not while you’re under my roof you can’t.” Wilbur says, smiling as he puts their items on the checkout counter. “Ugh, I can decide if I need more sugar or not myself!” “It’s not about how long it’ll take you, you don’t need more sugar anyway.” Wilbur bites back laughter.
Tommy grabs Wilbur’s sleeve, tugging gently. “And I want to get back home as quick as possible.” “I literally did not ask you to come with me, you begged to come-ask yourself that question, bro.” Wilbur shakes his head as they move forward in line. Tommy stomps his foot like the child he swears he isn’t, “Then why am I even here, Wilbur?!” “Why not?” Tommy exaggerates his pout - giving his best puppy dog eyes.
Wilbur sighs, taking the several chocolate bars in Tommy’s hand and placing them on the rack beside them.
